These paintings are composite images of multiple overlaid landscapes. The landscapes in each painting are chosen to highlight one another’s’ differences—in ecology, climate, or geomorphology. My goal is to synthesize a landscape of incongruities: strange environments that look familiar at a glance, and upon closer examination reveal their incompatibilities.
